Which one? There are a few in the box.

all pods that have glas basically... only hasegawa did it right as far as i know, they included all lights and the chinpod lenses as clear parts....

i had to scratchbuild all of them on the academy kit 😕 but at least found a really nice solution for it :D

  • Homebee changed the title to 1/72 - Grumman F-14A & B Tomcat by Academy - F-14A released - new F-14B boxing in Q4/2022
  • 1 month later...

Small but important correction... many of us, me included, often stated that all parts for a B were already in the box of the previous F-14A issue.

Well, now that I've seen the instructions on the Academy website I've noticed that there are different parts in this box that were not included in the original issue: the main fuselage parts now features the bulges associated with the AN/ALR-45 on the sides of the glove vanes leading edges. These were added to all Tomcats at some point in their life and the aircraft represented in the decal sheet had them, so Academy correctly included them with new fuselage parts.

Now this means that the original F-14A issue had all the parts for a early B but not all those required for a late B... and actually not all parts needed for a late A....

Nice! The B plastic is already there in the earlier VF-143 A release, I'm curious if there'll be another decal option besides VF-103.

Cheers,

Andre

Looks like only a few versions of VF-103's final Tomcat cruise. I'm itching to do the low-vis version, personally.

Are you sure? These fairings are present on my VF-143 boxings, requiring removal.

Those would be my preferred subjects as well.
