Same goes for CZ, DE, AT It would be nice if people take that into account, Thanks a lot, Got enough kits in the stash for .... a few years, so I don't really worry. It is certainly not worth it in the actual circumstances. Edit 24/03/2020: received my cat today. I'm impressed; very fine panel lines, nice detail, simple build apparently. An unbeatable price/quality ratio IMHO. Edited March 24, 2020 by PattheCat
fewr9fkr9595
Early beavertail - Top half of GWH kit literally drops straight in acad kit and on same panel line too... Bottom is a different story - Different join and width. What I propose to do to make it a drop in part is cut the GWH lower in length and width (red hash) then rescribe the outer airbrake line (lime) For ease and simplicity this part will come pre assembled and airbrakes shut as the inners wont line up and also make it a hell of alot easier to cast. Kit will defo need some nose weight with a big slab of resin on it’s backside 😂 Also here are my seamless intakes for this kit. Just seen on hannants future releases that quickboost has a set on the way. Doh! And some nose U/C bay details. Cheers. 8

Scratchbuild something and put a lot of work in it and up pops a new moulded version or some AM bits.
fewr9fkr9595
This area took alot of profiling to match the cowls and allow them to fit. Not too bad now - This plate helps hold it in place when assembling and will act as pour stub. On the underside, the circled step helps hold and brace the lower half in the right place. Needs blending a bit still. The red areas need to be backfilled still to reduce the undercut then it will be ready for some primer.

Booty003
I ordered one from S Korea as I couldn't find any in the UK. I have no idea when this will turn up due to current circumstances. I am waiting on the big H to hopefully get some in stock too.

Had to trim the top edge a bit then redo the rivets

fewr9fkr9595
So here are the quickboost intakes. Thought they would be fancy 3D scanned and printed parts. Turns out they are just assembled and cleaned up kit parts. Note the curve to wall from sanding and removing too much. I had the same problem on my first build as it makes a step from the intake wall. Here the arrows are pointing to the dip in the walls where the joins were. And here are mine - Masters (AAP = AA Productions) First cast So for this academy kit I will have Front wheel well detail set. Seamless intakes. Early Beavertail. Undercarriage doors (all ejection pins filled in) Cheers.

RCI
Guys, one question on the kit. It comes with 4 AIM-9 sidewinders. So 2 on each side's missile launcher. Since the academy markings do not intend the double AIM9 launchers there is nothing in the instructions. i have found the side rail, but not the bottom rail for the AIM9. Anyone knows if academy included it? i can't find it on any of the sprues... 😕

Also in box there are 4 rails in two types for the winders. But two early/std (lau-7) and two later with chaff (lau-138/BOL) If you got another set of matching rails and missiles from a second kit (to do the 4 winder set up) you would still need the small wedge adapter to attach to underside of glove pylon. I will be releasing one of those as a resin AM part one day.
