Dave_R
Hi All, I'll be building the old Tamiya Pz IVD. It looks like it'll be an easy build. I'm going to finish it in DAK marking to go with the El Alamein Sherman I did last year. Dave.

Yetifan
Really enjoyed building this kit, for the price I think it still holds up well and produces a nice model.
PlaStix
Good to see another one of the good old Tamiya Pz.IVs being built. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Kind regards, Stix
badger
Ooh - I have one of these I inherited from an unknown local modeller who sadly died. It's part started so ineligible for this gb but I intend to finish it as a tribute to him.

Stix and Moi Myself would probably take a liberal approach in counting the 25% if that could be regarded as a tribute build to the original builder... 2

It was mostly built and painted by the late modeller but was damaged when I received it with some missing bits (sourced via britmodeller !) I'm planning to rebuild it with some etch, new tracks as the originals had perished, and a few tweaks here and there. Not sure I'll get time to do it for the gb but if I finish my planned build I'll give it a go. All the best Ben

Yetifan
Wow great progress, I do like that the Tamiya kits go together so easily. Looking forward to seeing which way you go with the “How to paint your wheels quiz” 🙂 just finished sanding mine but haven’t decided how to paint, either separately or on the hull. Dave_R
Hi All A bit more progress. I thought I'd get the tedious job of the wheels out of the way early on. Dave.
fatfingers
Aye up Dave. Thats a nice smooth finish on the paintwork. What did you use? Regards Steve
Dave_R
Hi Steve, It's Tamiya XF-60, with a few drops of Ultimate Thinner. I've only just started the Ultimate Thinner, but it seems to slow down the drying time and you get a smoother finish. (Caveat - if you use too much thinner then it's like water, it just runs). Dave.
