72modeler
Now you're just showing off, Tom...wow! That's a lot of work and kits, but I think you nailed it- sure is pretty in the overall grey with the big buzz numbers. You never cease to amaze me with your modeling skills. replicant
Thank you, guys! I am happy you like my little Gloss Pearl Gray (as early P-80s) beauty..... 4 hours ago, 72modeler said: overall grey Thank you, Mike! John R
I have an ambition to add one of these to my collection of early jets one day so is there any chance of you telling which bits of each that you used and where you got your information? Not that mine will stand any chance of being as good as yours. John

Caerbannog
Nice work Replicant. Which colour did you use for the Pearl Grey? I have a P-80R on my to do list plus some others which were painted "Pearl Gray". So far I did not find any reference like FS colour codes or the like for this colour. Mike Not that I have any influence, but I'm thinking a pearl grey P-80 and F-86 to go with your P-84 would make a great trio! I'm just sayin'! I have no WIP because 2003 i didnt do this. Your drawing is far more accurate as that of XP-84 in D&S and shows perfectly the shorter fuselage and the longer keel. On 07/12/2018 at 12:08, Caerbannog said: Which colour did you use for the Pearl Grey? There are tons of pics of pearl gray P-80s, e. g. a very nice big feature in Airpower September 2001, i checked my references and mixed my own color and came out with around FS16492... Book with chips is Monogram USN USMC Official Color Guide... 36492 is matte version, 16492 is glossy as were P-80 and XP-84 I usually make steps in mixing process on litho film for possible future models Cheers, Tom
