JMSmith
hey guys, a while ago i posted images of the Short Stirling being moved from the factory to Bourn Airfield for re asssembly, now when i want them i can't find them, did anyone download them, i have nearly a million images not sorted, and it will take me forever to find them, one shot in particular is from the side on the transporter, similar to the Austin works photo but more square on. JMSmith
i have the longbridge photos, thank you, just as a point of interest about 1 yr before i retired i was delivering tarmac to the new housing site now built on the old factory site at longbridge, and the concrete ramp for lifting fairey battle up to the higher level is still there
Kingsman
Has the Commer Q2 tractor in the 2nd photo had the cap chopped to clear the fuselage? Note the amount of packing on the top trailer to raise the fuselage. The design of Queen Mary trailer with the wheels right at the back is a new one on me. Lots of interesting detail differences between the fuselages. A B1 top and BIII below?
