corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Well, let's compare the size.... Even if it don't matter a lot, I like to have an idea ... Especially when I work on a model that I did'nt see in real life !! So a Skyknight is almost as long as a Sea Harrier... Well, now I can figure it !! one more PE part added, now I will make an intake trunk for the open hole, I can't let it that way... More to comùe in a week or two !! Take care Gents !! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Gents !! Why did I looked at these 2 TV documentaries about operation Corporate ??? Up we get with the shar !! The fins of the 9 lima are badly short shooted, So I check my attic and phew !! I have some better Hasegawa ones... Going to take it soon !! No modelling, I should have posted this in the morning but I lacked the time to do so... Sincerely. CC
Biggles87
Interesting comparison between the Shar and the Skynight, I would have imagined that the Skynight would be longer. John

John Me too !! You know, I like these comparisons, here's another one... The Boomerang has a longer wingspan and a wider lifting surface than the Shar ! Now, the shar is thousand folds more powerfull... Yesterday I surfaced some parts !! External loads will be the 2 Aden cannons, 2 'winders and 2 fuel tanks... As far as I can see, it's a typical load for BarCap mission in the Falkland war... And looking at the pics, the refuelling probe was not installed, it seem logical since there was no tanker available... I stand to be corrected by the Shar specialists... @Shar2 I also read that the twin 'winder pylons were not available at the time being... Open to the info and comments... Take care and enjoy gluing some styrene !! Sincerely. CC
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Here we are, I searched my stock in the attic for a good hour... And the box was on the bench.... And now the Sidewinder glitch is properly adressed... See you soon on BM !! Stay safe Gents !! Sincerely. CC
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, As the sub assemblies grew up bigger... These days are not easy ones... corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I also have to look for the fuel tanks... There are no refilling points or sort of.... If anyone of you know about it... Sincerely. CC

I learned for the first time about your hip replacement reading this thread, Hope all is well 3+ years down the line? Thanks Sir, I will be tempted to say that I'm more a frantic maniac who go from a kit to another one.... Finishing some from time to time.... Hip replacement worked a treat !! Now I carefully selected the hospital... An hospital specialised in orthopedic surgeries located in a town named Bouge looked like a great idea.... Since Bouge translate as Move.... More seriously, for the one who suffers from hip pain, I'll just say have a go... No more pain, I'm back in my 30's.... For my hip at least... But once again, asking and speaking with peoples who received this prothesis is important I insist because after the accident, they wanted to replace my hip in an hospital near Charleroi... Reputed surgeon and all... Just like some used cars seller.... And I had a bad feeling , something in my guts telling me no to go on.... And I was right, they were about to place a prothesis but my whole pelvis was basculed.... Thanks to a good chiropractor, it has been relocated on the right spot... I hope it help !! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, So here I go with a challenge... A challenge for me... Most of the BM'ers will achieve it with the fingers in the nose.... I will finish the Shar before the 14th of June... As a tribute to the Falklands vets Hey, I hear you in the corner.... Even the 13th at 2355 is still right !! Sincerely. CC

heloman1
Excellent progress. I remember sitting a SHAR at Yeovilton. I had a mate at the time who was serving on 899 NAS. They had returned from 'down south' on Hermes. The one I got to sit in was the one that crash landed on the Spanish freighter. Even dressed in civvies, there wasn't much room in the cockpit and I'm not a big guy. Colin
Deano353
Looking good so far. I would say the FRS1 is the best looking variant of all the Harriers that were and are in service.

I could understand that there not so much room in it... Now, being stuck with the full flight gear plus the wet flight suit.... Lord, one can barely move, both the Mirage are the same way.... No need for for arm rest, you are jammed in... 899 Sqdn, right the one I'll depict... 23 hours ago, Deano353 said: Looking good so far. But Shar 1 is still my fav one... 13 hours ago, mark.au said: You can do it CC! Thanks for the vote of confidence Mark !! We'll see !! I'm in for an evening work week, so, no modelling except on tuesday.... Well Gents !! Given my self inflicted deadline !!! I did a bit of weathering in the wheel wells.... And I clamped it because it was reluctant to do so..... Then, it was time for some more assemblies..... Bananas half fuselage... So, clamped too.... I'm now wonderin about replacing the auxilliary air vanes, The idea is good, the kit is well enginnered, but it look really thick..... Let's sleep on it..... Have a great modelling week Gents !! Aaaand take care !! Sincerely. CC

The Spadgent
Another one!!!! You did say you had this kit but I didn’t realise you had started it. Glad to see her on the move again as I would like to build mine too. I have none of the extras though. 🤨 I’m sure I must have known about your hip but I can’t recall. Glad it’s on the mend. 3 years seems to have flown by my friend. I’ll take a belated seat in this wonderful thread, seems like I’ve picked the right time.
