Marlin
Hi folks. Yesterday I got the last of the decals in place.086 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I thought the RB04's looked a bit naked, so I trawled the net for some picture and found out that a letter and a number each will do fine. Marlin
Hi The ejection seats are done.087 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The glass "ears" have been glued with Gator Glue, I hope they'll stay in place. I'll wait to glue them to the cockpit until I'm done with the air brakes and ordnance. And speaking of air brakes. The first PE part was bent, folded and glued yesterday.088 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr To be continued..... /Bosse
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Nicely detailed seats there Bosse, those glass ears are an interesting fixture. Do you know their purpose?

Marlin
Thanks Guys, I have actually not a clue on why the "glass ears" are there, but now you got me curious too. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi, Just a quick update. I'm done with the PE origami and the air brakes. 089 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The sharp eyed can see that I've left out some smaller bits on the side of the lower air brakes. Those parts are too small for me to see, and handle, and they'll be on the back side of the air brakes which will not be seen when I've put my Lansen in the display cabinet. Romeo Alpha Yankee
You are very brave with all the PE Bosse, I shy away from it in most cases. Looks good. Though I do have some PE in the stash for when I become braver!
Marlin
Thanks Ray. PE isn't that much different from plastic, so try it out. You could just start with the easy bits like an instrument panel and then work up your skills from there. I've still have some more PE for this Lansen to work with before it's finished and I could perhaps take some more progress pictures of that work in a more step by step manner if that would be of any help. /Bosse
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Cheers Bosse, I have had a go with the Eduard coloured self-adhesive sets without issue. It is when I have to bend and glue PE assemblies and make them stay together where the issues start for me.
Marlin
I see what you mean Ray. A nice pair of small flat nosed pliers will take care of most of the bending part. I bought a set that was catered to people doing their own jewellery, and they are the one I use the most. Or, if you invest some of your hard earned AUD$, an etchmate folding tool. I invested in a Etch Mate 3C from Mission Models over a decade ago and I think it's great, and it's going to last my lifetime so it's a one-time purchase. If you plan to do PE for large AFV's or ships this will be (almost) a necessity As for gluing the part I find that a gel PE and a tooth pick is the best approach. For smaller parts where there is not loadbearing stress on the parts Gator Glue works fine. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. My Lansen has got some TLC. I've got the airbrakes and pitot tube in place.090 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr091 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr092 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Next I'll paint the pitot tube, and perhaps hang some missiles. Robert Stuart
Good to see this coming along Bosse, BTW, that pitot looks sharp - is it metal or plastic?
Marlin
Hi Robert. The pitot tube is brass from Maestro. But I think it's manufactured by Master and only branded by Maestro. I did some more small things on my Lansen yesterday. The pylons for the Rb04's is in place. I broke one of the bracings when I cut it free from the pour blocks. But it was easy to glue it in place after the pylon was glued to the wing.093 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Nose gear covers and a fin has found it's place.094 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've also got one of the Rb04's on the pylon.095 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr096 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr097 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll get the second one in place as soon as I've finished painting the broken piece on the pylon. My plan for this weekend is to actually finish this build. I've got the FOD guards to do, rolling and folding coloured PE should be exiting enough for a friday evening. Marlin
Hi. My Lansen is finished. Friday evening I got the second Rb04C in place.098 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr099 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr100 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr101 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And the FOD guards.102 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And with that I could finish the rest. I didn't use the PE boarding ladder due to it's complexity. Perhaps I'll add it later, or use it on the next Lansen.103 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr104 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr105 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr106 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr107 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And now it resides in the display cabinet.108 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr109 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr That's all for this build. It's been a bit complicated, mostly due to all PE that I've used. But I'll will build at least one more. Thanks for watching. /Bosse
