Adam Poultney
May or may not have bought two Airfix 1/72 Sputfire mkii/mkv kits...... Are there any good and cheap aftermarket resin engines for them? Just a crazy idea that I could have one with its engine on show...

johnd
There's a CMK one: Spitfire Engine Aires made one for a Mk.V but it was for the Tamiya kit so no idea whether it would fit. John. PS I'm not necessarily suggesting you buy that one, it's just for illustration.
Vicarage Vee
Aeroclub (white metal) ones on eBay. Not sure if the cowls from, for example, the Revell Lancaster can be assembled without the engines inside: if so someone who has built it 'cowls closed' may have one spare. Giorgio N
The Engines & Things engines are cheap but IMHO they are also nothing special. The CMK set is more expensive but quality is totally different, I would probably use one of these. more so as comes with engine bearers, lower cowling and other bits needed to complete a model with engine exposed. The fact that their set is specifically made for the Airfix kit also makes things easier.
