1/350 Uss Missouri 1991 (Tamiya+Pontos+Infini)

Recommended Posts

And we are back!

Here's my just finished model of the Uss Missouri.

As she was on her last tour in the Persian gulf participating in the Desert Storm in 1991.

The base was the old Tamiya kit brought back to life with the Pontos advanced set. Also some Infinis detail sets were used. After that thousands of scratch build details added.

Painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered using AK , Ammo and W&N products.

Awesome! I have the Revell Platinum Edition New Jersey on the deck and hope I can build it half as good as this!

That's a stunning representation of the Big Mo...your weathering looks considered and very authentic, you've done an amazing job.

Incidentally, I was on her only three weeks ago for the first time (waited 30+ years!), she is a 'must-see' for any naval enthusiast.

Truly magnificent modelling there. I'm still getting my head around that superb 1/350 CH-53 on the back which could easily pass as a much larger scale model. And as for the ship ........... absolutely top job.

This is magnificent.  I am going to start my first ship next year (trumpeter USS England) so will be reading all your WIPs for guidance

Great job on bringing the old, somewhat basic kit up to scratch, the extra work was well worth the effort. As mentioned the weathering looks just right and not overdone for the period. Excellent...

Man, I had no idea a Sea Stallion could land on a battleship.  Well, done!

Absolutely stunning build! There is so much to look at.

Takes me back to my visit to Virginia in September and the awesome USS Wisconsin.
