Bundesheer...1/48 Cessna L-19A Bird Dog Austrian Airforce

Besides starting an Austrian Tunnan soon (no free building space yet), my dad starts now also an Austrian Bird Dog using the new Roden kit with Brent-Air-Decals.

22 A models and 7 E models were in service with the Austrian Airforce from 1958 to 1997.

I will look forward to your build of the Tunnan, as I have the airfix Tunnan with Austrian decals to build as part of an Austrian air force collection too.

I have many memories of watching Austrian air force jets and helicopters flying along the Drau valley - below the level of my wife's family's home!

slow progress, every part needs to be dryfitted, but the cockpit tub seems to fit into the fuselage without much work

Front and rear window installed, only fixed with Micro Klear so that they can be removed again in case paint fog gets into the fuselage or one of the rear side windows gets loose.

Legs mounted too.

13 minutes ago, modelling minion said:

Looks like it has gone together very well and certainly looks like a Bird Dog to me.

Need to build one of these at some point as one from the Ravens in Laos.

Paint on soon?

Well, it's a typical Roden kit, fit, molding and engineering could be better, but so far no major problems.

Yes, soon to be preshaded and painted.
