I'm guessing the silvering might be down to a lack of gloss coat, least I can't see that you did one, remember, gloss, decal, flat coat in that order. You could always go a step further & try this method, which works spectacularly well, especially for older decals that mightn't want to stick down well. Steve. It was the first kit I built during that modelling period. I bought it at a toy store when my pregnant wife and I were looking for baby toys. It was the first of many builds back then.
