FortyEighter
This has been on the shelf of procrastination for a few years but having got another detail fret from Daco at Telford, it is now finished. An out of the box build with Authentic cockpit decals. It took several attempts to get a good finish from the Daco (Xtracolour) paint; thinned, brushed and polished with micromesh. And a few of its sister, which has been on here before but I suspect the photos are in some lost bucket
Turbofan
Good result especially as you brush painted them! How come it took several attempts, what was the problem with the paint? They'll certainly add a bit of colour to your shelf! Love the skiing polar bear! Cheers, Ian

Graeme H
Really love those WP schemes, were some of the most interesting around, must confess this is the first time I have seen this one finished, came up a treat.

Cheers, Ian Thanks Ian, When I first started the C. Butte version (3 or 4 years ago?) I tried brush painting as I wasn't sure about spraying enamel. Thinning the paint produced a gritty finish, which was sanded down and retried with little improvement. I got the Durango version the next year at Telford and the blue paint went on really well by brush, so another tin of purple was bought and that gave a much better finish. I will admit to cutting the large fuselage decals into smaller pieces to make them easier to apply - I know where the joints are but at normal viewing distance they can't be seen! Having relatives who live in Crested Butte, this livery just had to be done! Mike

Yes, there have been a few of them - and the same livery won Gold at Telford. I think two Western Pacific models is enough for me but did get a 737-400 from Mr Coremans as I still have an unused set of BA World Tails decals.
