Old Viper Tester
Images of the 50th Tac Fighter Wing team at the Gunsmoke air-to-ground weapons competition at Nellis AFB, October 1983. Some will remember that these markings were in Hasegawa's first issue of their long running F-16A kit in 1/72nd scale. 80-0561 81-0666 81-0672 81-0682 81-757 Thanks for looking, Sven 15
72modeler
Those 'heritage' Vipers still look like a million bucks! Still hard to believe they are 37 years old! The USAF has sure gotten their money's worth! Thanks, as always, Sven, for sharing these. Mike
whiskey
What is that on the left pylon? A gun pod or something?

It's a SUU-20 practice bomb dispenser. Can carry six practice bombs in two rows of three, and four practice rockets, two on each side - hence the large holes in front and back. Though when I was flying, almost all of the SUU-20s I saw were marked as not rocket capable. Seen them in Light Ghost Grey, white (most often), and dark green. you can get them in both 1/72 and 1/48 Hasegawa weapons sets. I think OzMods makes a SUU-20 in 1/72 as well. Hetzer123
Thank you for the great pictures! It was an inspiration for me to create a new decal sheet about HR F-16A. https://www.pkproductions.de/shop/decals/48-007-early-usafe-high-flyers-1-48/
