John R
Whilst looking for information I came across a thread which contained a conversation between Edgar and Stephen MG which made reference to "an under fuselage intake'. Unfortunately the photos could not be seen (Photobucketed?). Could anyone (Stephen, if he reads this?) enlighten me further please? Also the colour - will Humbrol 19 Gloss red be suitable? And another - are there any pictures of the cockpit - seat and instrument panel? The only one I have is taken from the ground and show the top of the ejection seat. BritJet
I think it's a NACA type intake similar to the one under the fuselage on the P1083 as they have the same engine. There is a P1083 drawing in the Barrie Hygate British Experimental Jet Aircraft book. You can just about see it in this photo. Humbrol 19 or maybe 174 Signal Red would be worth looking at. Hope this helps. Steve
Robert
That's a great photo of WB188, taken at IAT ? Robert
BritJet
Yes, it's IAT 1976 at Greenham Common for the Hunter 25th anniversary, not my photo though, as a 13 year old I was very limited on how much I was able to spend on film! The photo is from Wikipedia. Steve
jaw
I am a guide at the Tangmere Museum where WB188 is displayed. I am there tomorrow so will have a look to see what intakes there are. John

John R
I may have seen this too late but can you peer up the tailpipe and see if any of the afterburning equipment is still there. The Pavla mod for the back end has some form of bullet shape about in line with the mid point of the tail chord where it meets the fin and I wonder how real it is. I have sent a PM with my mobile number in case you need to chat. John

John I'm sorry, I didn't save copies of the photos from the original thread (I wish I had!). Hopefully John (jaw) can get us some pictures (with both our thanks) - jaw, the intake in question is right underneath the rear fuselage which is why it's so difficult to see in most photos.
