Mig88
Hello everyone! Here is the Airfix 1:72 McDonnell F2H-2P Banshee BuNo 126678 “2” of VMJ-1, USMC in Korea, 1951, which I built back in 2000. I opened up the solid-moulded camera ports in the nose, scratchbuilt some cameras and glazed the openings with Kristal Klear. The kit was fully painted with brush. Thanks for looking. Natter
There's something cool about straight wing jets. You have managed to get a really fine finish with the dark blue, and on an old Airfix kit too. Top job, I really like that.

Julien
Nice job, having built this kit in both incarnations it builds up really well. Julien
gamevender
I'd love to know how you got such a smooth gloss finish brush painting. Beautiful job.
FatFlyHalf
Nice modelling. Gosh! I don't remember this as an Airfix offering. My memory must be going. 🤔 Now, where did I put that ... Mig88
Thank you very much evryone! Gamevender, I was lucky with the consistency of the enamel paint as indeed it's hard to get such a smooth finish. Miguel
FAAMAN
Beautifully done Banshee 😎😎😎 This is a great Airfix kit Any "old" kit can be made great with the right amount of work, very well done
Ad-4N
Painted with a brush? Come on! You’re pulling my leg. That’s the best gloss paint job I’ve ever seen. Asombroso!

DennisTheBear
I love the straight wing jets of the 1940s and '50s, and this is a beautiful example of modelling them. Well done that man! DennisTheBear
Mig88
Thanks a lot. It is indeed a decent kit of the old Airfix. I have another in the stash to make the standard variant... someday! Miguel

Nigel Bunker
I do wish Airfix would re-release this kit. It makes into a nice model as Miguel has shown.
Andre B
Good looking Banshee! One of Airfix best. Have one built and another one in the stash waiting. Cheers / André
Mark Joyce
You achieved a great looking finish using a brush, Miguel! The build looks wonderful overall. Cheers, Mark
kapam
Beautiful, and I endorse Natter's comment about straight wings (being a T-33 and P-80 fan myself). Impeccable finish and clean construction - your build is a winner in my book!
F-32
Nice build! I've been lucky enough to see the real thing at the US Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola, I believe it's the only example left.
Mig88
Thank you all very much! Sorry I haven't replied before but I have been absent for 3 months due to searching for a new flat, moving to the new flat and then waiting for over a month to get internet!
