Thanks Steve,I only bought these figures because I liked the colours and the uniforms,the info that came with the kit says American Civil War Zouaves 1861-1865,the great feats of the French Zouaves during the Crimean War inspired American volunteers to form Zouave regiments and companies.This became a craze and over 50 regiments were created during the War,mostly in the North but a few in the South.Not all units captured the true look of the French Zouaves but here I have painted the First lot are Federal Zouaves 165th and the last lot are Confederate Zouaves with variant uniforms,Hope this helps and I'm sure there are others out there that know more,Cheers. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
