information on 1/72nd Bf109E decal sheets

Ok, a few questions (all for 1/72 scale):

  • Where can I get generic marking for the Luftwaffe (numbers and symbols, ect... I'm sorted for swastikas)?
  • Where can I get the little Jagdgeschwader emblems from?
  • Did all aircraft have the little Jagdgeschwader emblems?
  • And (again) Bf-109e3 decals. Especially any really cool schemes with mottling or weird camo- like the one below although I think that's a Bf-109e7- I really like trop ones so if anyone knows where I can get those from, I'd love to know (been looking, most are too much on postage to be worth getting because shipping from abroad is expensive- I'm in the UK)

Have a search through Hannants, or Scalemeates, to get an idea of what is available.

To be honest, you might just want to buy a specific decal sheet, as the problem with generics arethey are frequently just not quite right...

Hmm, unusual 109E schemes

also worth a look,. Ultracast decals department, more for what has been done than too buy

this is neat one

I also recommend a trawl through Asisbiz

masses of pics, and there are usually decals for many,  given the sheer variations possible, you might want to find a scheme you like, and then see if it's available.

oh, this is well worth a read

I believe Hobby Boss has decals for the E-7/Trop aircraft in your post, and they also made an E-4/Trop, they're worth checking them out if you want.

Thing is, the model I have is an E3..... :(

I want the E7 but Airfix don't make that in 1/72 right now.

externally there is very little difference,  basically a drop tank or bomb rack

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Bf_109_variants#Bf_109E

the sprues are here

these are the only new bits in the Airfix E-3,  and are unused if the Bulgarian option is used.

Find someone who has done the Bulgarian option and ask for the spares ;)

You can make a tipped spinner by filling in the tip of the kit one, and a Bf109 drop tank rack is in plenty of kits.   Some E-7 may have had the holed spinner as well.

when you get 100 posts here, you can use the wanted section on here.

Finally,  if you use the "edit" and then look for "full edit"  you could change the thread heading into something to better describe your question,

At the moment when you look at the WWII page it just says "decals",  you get more responses with "information on 1/72nd Bf109E decal sheets

Copy and paste this into google:

almark decals 1/72 A14

and hit the "images" button. Is this the kind of thing you're after? Dunno about current availability, but it might help.

here's an oldstock  but cheap BoB 109E sheet
