LZ551 Posted November 20, 2018 Share Posted November 20, 2018 Hi fellow modellers! I’ve recently returned to this fabulous hobby after a 20-year hiatus. My 10-year-old daughter got me back modelling - she asked me one day what I did when I was her age, and I told her I spent a lot of time supergluing myself to aircraft models. She’s plane crazy like her Dad, and now makes her own models (much better than I did at that age!) with a little help now and again. So I started building kits just for myself (under her careful supervision), and then we also do some ‘joint projects’ together. She also leads me astray when it comes to buying lots more kits! I used to do volunteer work at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton as part of the aircraft restoration team, mainly involved in the restoration of Vampire LZ551 for display on the then-new carrier exhibition (hence the display name!).
