pg265
Thank you very much Mates. I don’t really know if you’ve been thanked.. I tried...but it seems that I’m unable to validate it and that an error occurred. I will post some progress soon Pascal

pg265
Hi Mates, It’s been quite a long time since my last post...Sorry. Aircraft can’t wait!! Still progressing on the Chris Amon Ferrari. The fitting holes and the front Ferrari logo area are masked. I had a little « spot » on the Red, so I sanded it and made a touch up. The dampers looked to simple for my taste. I used modified F1 Specialties brass electronic connectors and chemically burnished them, then put a center adjustment screw and finally install the knob on the damper. A Koni decal add a nice looking detail. Aaaaannd, there is a new kid in town! 0.3 flat pattern: tested today and happy with the result😉 voilà. More soon. Voilà. sharknose156
Dear Pascal, Amazing your masterclass, as usual, this is "orfeverie & micro-technique" what you do. In my limited experience, MFH requires much more time than plastic and more careful handling of parts. Still learning to polish small parts without affecting the shape. So sometimes i reluctantly leave a small portion of the factory mark, grrr, like a seam or two, better than irreversibly altering the shape. i have also tried to make my own polishing tools, but not satisfied with my trial and errors, and not enough time to do all ! the time i have i prefer to work on finishing Paul's the car. is there a way to slightly modify the colour of white metal without painting it ? i,e with some harmless chemical ? only to build color contrasts. in case of working on small pieces, and making a small or large mistakes, there is no alternative but to either make a new scratched part or re-order a part if possible. But the aesthetics, look and feel and realism with MFH are all far better than anything i have experienced. keep posting please 🙏 kind regards Sam
pg265
Hi, Thank you very much for your kind comments Sam! I was just reading and watching the progress on the Eagle Weslake You can easily darken the parts with products like Blaken-it or other stuff from Ushi Van Der Rosten or Master... Originally made to darken tank tracks or brass barrels, it works fine on MFH parts. Then you can slightly polish the parts in order to reach a satin or more glossy result depending on what you’re looking for. Have a look to Scale Hardware for nice polishing sticks I also use 2000 sanding sponge (+/- used) stuck on wood stirrer and cut to different sizes wide. 0000 steel wool works well too and 3M finese it 9 micron disks. Well, Some progress has been made. 2 Rosso Corsa touch up have been done on the nose and upper body. Made with the Infinity and no need to use the Super63. Then clear coat is quickly applied... just time to prepare it and let it degas (5mn). New jar, pipette, strirrer... Airbrushes are ready: 0.5 for large areas, 0,3 for the inside of the mouth. Both flat pattern. the first 200 rivets are ready for color, 30 in white. Just 400 more to do... Everybody is now waiting in my Magic Drying Box (30 yo Rubbermaid plastic box...) Not too bad It’s now dry, let’s go for a quick test fit: More soon. Pascal

stevehnz
Nice to see this back & sort of nice to see that weird V12 lay out, with a better engine Amon might well have done better. It does make for a very interesting model though. Steve.
pg265
Hi, Thanks a lot for the kind comments. Small progress ... Preparation and installation of the hose and the serflexes on the pipes of the cooling system. The tightening of the collar is simulated using aluminum foil and a piece of welding wire. Same preparation for the 2 cooling scoops. Test and alignment of the 1/2 rear axles and rods of the anti-roll bar. Pascal

pg265
Hi Mates, Thanks a lot for following, commenting and I hope enjoying the WIP. @PROPELLER: I wish I reached your Stratospheric level one day!... Few progress and improvements. I wanted to rebuild the anti roll bar with brass, but the original is good and almost hidden behind the tank... The grills are installed on the radiator and the simulated inside tubing is still visible. A new Sandow will replace the white metal part. pg265
Hi, Still progression both on the rear and front. Difference between before and after work on white metal parts. The small bucket doesn’t belong to the 312F1...but to a Tipo 500. I wanted to install thin aluminum sheet on the structure. Pascal
pg265
Hi, I finally managed to finish the ignition coils system, after a last modification. Small brass bridges of 0.5 were installed on each side of the water / oil tank to hold the "bungee cord" in place after having stretched it. There was a problem with the length of the radiator supports, I redid them in brass of 0.8 which I brazed with silver solder. It was also time to paint the radiator(s): No more beautiful polished metal appearance and place for brass. ... And decided to represent the welded appearance of brass radiators. Metalcote Alu, oils ... A blank assembly of the various components of the rear axle and the exhausts to confirm that we are going in the right direction It only remains to connect the lines to the master cylinder of the front brakes, this is done for the clutch and the rear. Just have to finalize the assembly of the elements I touched up the varnish and painted the underside of the hull. Voili voilou. More soon.
