Britman
With Flickr chasing me to become a pro and if not reduce my images so far posted, I thought I had get these on for your perusal . After a splendid flight from Anchorage to Homer in Era`s DC3 it was time for a flip in the wonderful Travel Air 6000B out of Katchamak . This aircraft had an incredible design team in the guise of Walter Beech, Clyde Cessna and one Lloyd Stearman! Note the Booted Bird Dog in the background. A bit more juice and were good to go. OOPS! Always check the water is clear of obstruction before alighting! One can go off people in orange! Owner and pilot Bill de Creeft and his wife plus assistant. Lovely people. And then "slum it" back to Anchorage in this Convair 580. Hope you like something. Keith.
PatW
Great shots. My wife and I had a journey from our son's home in Lacombe, between Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta, up to Vancouver by the Rocky Mountaineer train, then onto a cruise ship stopping off at various places in Alaska. As I love seaplanes we took a round flight from and back to Ketchikan over the Ghost Mountains, landing a mountain top lake and back to the harbour at Ketchikan and back onto the ship. Although not classic a couple of photo's............. Our plane is N37756 in the back ground and then ....just landed on the mountain top lake.... We then got out and walked along the floats. Plus a small settlement outside Ketchikan... Edited November 30, 2018 by PatW
