Hi, I bought a cheap Academy F-16 A to practice building, filling, sanding an most of all airbrushing for the first time.

The instructions are clear and easy apart from the colour scheme which is poor.

Could someone point me to a colour schematic which would be suitable for this model please.

many thanks  Gary

Academy's "F-16A" kit is a copy of the Hasegawa YF-16  kit, and therefore not representative of a production F-16A.

Forr possible paint schemes: see

You're welcome. I plan to do one in this scheme, you may find the schematic helpful as well:

Edit: and if you're not averse to some whatiffery, there's also this:

Beware that the aircraft in one of the posts above are FSDs, these are the basis of the proper production F-16s and can not really be made from the Academy kit.

The only schemes actually carried by the two YFs are the house demonstrator scheme in white red and blue, with differences between nr.1 and nr.2, the off white/light blue wore by nr.2 and the two tone greys later carried by the same nr.2. Nr. 1 was later converted to the CCV demonstrator
