Spookytooth
Thanks @The Spadgent , @giemme, @bbudde, and @Nikolay Polyakov. Not a lot of action but some planning done. Out with the measuring stick and sharp crayon (Being careful) Basic enough . Also drew around the upper fuselage too. This will be for later when I come to mask and paint. Anyhow , the wife calls so... All comments welcome. Simon. Edited March 18, 2019 by Spookytooth

Spookytooth
Sorry chaps for the delay but life comes here to regularly. Anyhow. IP, First a card template. Then fitted into place. Next, some stock card shaped at the end. And then cut to size ish... It needs tidying up , which I have now done, but the main thing is that it fits. Now to make the plinth to mount it on. Oh, and a couple of raised bits either side of the main IP. All comments welcome. Simon.

bbudde
As above; good start for a recover/replacement. Cheers
Spookytooth
Thanks @bbudde, and @giemme. Managed to get a little bench time today. Enough time to cut some plastic. The raised bits. In place (Dry Fit). Just need to fix them in place then do the plinth. Hopefully sooon, All comments welcome. Simon.
bbudde
Hello, nice to see you making progress. Crying at the moment, while cutting onions. I will make this (great recipe) with some modifications for tomorrow. It has to brew overnight, so even better then. Spookytooth
Thanks @Nikolay Polyakov, @bbudde and @giemme. Right on with the plinth. Stock plastic rod/strip 4mm x 3mm. Cut carefully with a razor saw and filed. Cut and trimmed. And the IP fixed on. That`s it for now. Allow to dry before cleaning up. All comments welcome. Spookytooth
Thanks @Nikolay Polyakov, @bbudde and @giemme. OK folks fitting time. Not a bad fit for a MK 1 eyeball measuring device. You may notice that the control stick is absent from the right hand side. Oh B**. Another scratch build. Some 1.5 mm rod drilled out to 0.5 mm and a piece of brass rod 0.5 mm fitted. This will be the base for the control stick. A lot of careful filing / carving to come. All comments welcome. Simon.
giemme
Since you were already scratch building the IP, you will build a perfect control stick replacement surfing on that mojo . The IP fits like a dream, BTW Ciao
MR2Don
Very good build log. I empathise with your ejector pin issues, I've got the same on my Revell 1/48 Tornado ADV - lots of ejector pin problems, both sinks, projections and up the side of the pin extrusions. I wonder if their moulds are getting a bit worn, but there's no excuse for letting product out the door like that!
Spookytooth
Thanks @Nikolay Polyakov, @giemme, and @MR2Don. Further up date, the control stick. After a little think about it , I came up with this idea. A piece of 0.5 mm brass rod and a piece of brass tubing 0.7 mm, about 2 mm long, and a bit of plastic strip 1 mm square, drilled and filed roughly onto shape. Threaded the bits on to the brass rod. I then glued the plastic bit to the end, once set bent the rod, then slid the brass collar up to the bend a glued that too. Just one more to make. All comments welcome. Harrier/ViperFan
I am not sure if you can still get them but Mr Color did actual colours for the F-22 in a set for when Hasegawa released there 1/48 F-22. That gives you the correct metallic sheen you need. EDIT: Ok according to Hasegawa and Mr Hobby you use SM203/4 and mix it 50% with the camo colours to get the shine you need as they are a Super fine metal colours. My daughter turned mad about Currywurst since her school trip to Berlin.... Funny to know that there is a Museum dedicated to the Currywurst 😜 Great job Simon ! Keep carry on. Sincerely. Spookytooth
Thanks @giemme, @TheBaron, hopefully the last of the scratch building.... Thanks @Harrier/ViperFan, My local shop stocks Mr Hobby, so will pop in and see. Thanks @corsaircorp, The health could be better but it could be a lot worse. The wife is OK now, having got over her little problem. And pull up a chair CC, there`s a cold one in the fridge. Well not much done due to life again. This time it`s been a sprinkler system being fitted... But it is worth it for the peace of mind. Will hopefully crack on this weekend and get her ready for some paint. Until then. Yep, great addition!! Every room here in my flat had to be fitted with a smoke detector since 2017. Statutory duty! And since that, one alarmed me right here, before getting in trouble with too hot oil in a pan, while I was calling with someone. Only smoke, but really disgusting and quickly breath taking. So I can say, the firefighters (all around the world) are right to say, that it is not so good trying to get through a smoke covered stairway. Otherwise surely it's a stairway to heaven! Since the fire at Grenfell Tower there has been a lot of work going on to to high buildings of multi occupancy to bring them up to a safe standard. Yes, that was a real disease. Good to see they are doing something to decrease the risk and keep you safe. Hopefully they are serious on that. For me, I could jump out of my window on the ground level here, but I also have resonsibilties on the ones living above me and maybe I have to answer for them , if I must then. So, take care.
