Spookytooth
Thanks @Nikolay Polyakov and @giemme, your comments are really appreciated sirs. Right, I managed to get some decals on this afternoon. Not many, these Revell decals are a pita , long time to come free of the backing paper. And while I was looking on where they went I noticed that I had missed a painted line. The thing is that it was not pointed out on the main plan. Oh well, typical, I will wait until those are dry , then varnish them , before masking up and spraying. Off for a coffee now. All comments welcome. Simon.

Yes, the Revell decals are on it’s own... Last winter I did the Revell Huey Hog and these decals from 2008 was not so bad in comparison with a decals from 1990s. Anyway, all looking good!

The Spadgent
Excellent catch up Simon. The paintwork and decals are looking beautiful as is that cheeky wheel well. 🤩 I don’t want to teach granny how to suck eggs but please be careful when masking over the decal for that rogue line you’re spraying. Even if you lay down a top coat I’ve still had decals lift with tape. 🙌 All the best kid. Johnny

Just a suggestion, since the areas in question are uniform strips of single color, and you already have several decals in place that woild conflict with masking, wouldn't it be easier (or at least safer) to make decals to apply as the color strips? All you really need is a large enough piece of decal sheet (even an edge from this kit's sheet would do). Painting over an area of the sheet then cutting into properly sized strips should give you what you need (you could add a layer of decal film or other clear coat for safety, but just the uniform color coat is probably sufficient to hold together).
Spookytooth
Thanks @Nikolay Polyakov , @giemme, @The Spadgent and @CT7567 for the kind words and advice. While pondering how to mask those tail fins again, I got the Beast out, the Dremel clone. With this I attacked those intakes. Or where they sit I should say. Copious amounts removed, then filed. Some holes to fill but the fit is about as good as it going to get. (Pics later). All comments welcome. Simon. bbudde
Yep, sometimes these oversized dentist things have to come into action to get rid of some painful things. Good job. Hope you have a smooth fit then. Cheers Edited June 13, 2019 by bbudde
Spookytooth
Thanks @bbudde, @Nikolay Polyakov and @giemme. I said that pics would be posted ad here they are. Not pretty but better than it was. A smile for the camera LOL. And tickle it`s tum I can see that there is still a lot of sanding/filling to be done, but it is a lot better than before. Well that is it for today, may catch up tomorrow/over the weekend. All comments welcome Simon.
Sharknose
Good skills there. I've just started the Hasegawa F22 1/48. And I'm not sure I have the heart to continue right now. The aim120's, 6 of em, each fin needs gluing but the attachment point isn't there really, not enough to seat it well to the body. So disappointing that I'm considering closed bays. Decals, over 100 no step decals, and the instructions don't seem to show them. Quite poor I think

Spookytooth
Thank you @giemme, @Nikolay Polyakov and @Sharknose. Right that missing (sic) stripe on the tail fin. After careful deliberation and ample coffee I came up with this idea Post it notes. Careful with the tape there Eugene (Any Floyd fans out there) Then masked with the post it note. Thankfully avoiding the decals, which I had given a coat of gloss varnish to protect them. Just the other one to do now. Happy weekend you lot. All comments welcome. Nikolay Polyakov
Well done, Simon! In some cases, the gloss clear coat becomes not so gloss after unmasking - but I think it’s not a problem.

You pay good money for a kit and they supply, shall we say poor quality. The Revell one I am building has its quirks to say the least. Ejector pin marks in the most awkward of places, hence the main weapons bay is closed etc. But such is our hobby, 2 hours ago, giemme said: Ingenious! And happy WE to you too! Once painted, a rub over with some micro mesh, then a coat of satin varnish. Simon.

OK, not a lot to report this time around. Some filling to be done. The Squadron Green comes out to play. Good stuff, smelly but it dries reasonably quickly. Hope to sand it tonight, poss? Until then a short interlude, I.E do something else. All comments welcome. Simon, Coffee anyone?

Actually, I haven’t tried this stuff and I don’t like the putty in general, but I recommend you to put a bit less. Just fill the gap with a spatula and apply some on top - it’s save your time on sanding, because it’s can be boring... You know! 16 minutes ago, Spookytooth said: Coffee anyone? Spookytooth
OK folks, while twiddling my thumbs, I remembered that the main U/C needed to be glued together before any more painting. A pretty good fit, so a drop of TET soon sorted them out. Did anyone want Donuts with their coffee? Simon.
