stevej60
Hi folk's second build for the Grumman GB is Eduard's 1/48 Hellcat as a FAA machine based at Tricomalee, nice kit not without a couple of little build issues I found the kit's USN marking's a bit brittle and poor in density so ordered xtradecal's AM set Yank's with roundel's.Thank's for looking in.
stevehnz
She looks blooming magic Steve, the light wash in the panel lines really gives it some life without overdoing things to my eye. Nicely done. 👍 Steve.
Grey Beema
Great job Steve. I love seeing FAA Hellcats. I especially like the interpretation of the roundels.. I have done a couple and seeing them parked next to a Seafire in the cabinet makes you realise how big they ar and how small the Seafire is.
airbus320
Lovely job on the Hellcat, I’ve just ordered these decals myself! Chris
Spitfire31
Beautiful build and finish! Those lighter panel lines look surprisingly effective, too. I may have to steal that idea! 😉 Great modelling. Kind regards, Joachim

John Masters
Really wonderful. Love the panel lines. What did you use for them?
stevej60
Many thank's for the comment's folk's I was expecting a bit of a "kicking" trying the light wash but thought I'd try and break up the solid blue and obviously a black wash would be wasted,I just took Tamiya ocean gray watered down with a couple of drop's of washing up liquid and ran it into the line's with a thin brush once the satin coat was applied it blended in a little darker which seem's to have worked.

cngaero
That looks great Steve and very attractive in her dark blue colour scheme and Pacific theatre markings. Your subtle weathering technique really brings it to life.
DaveyGair
Nice, neat model, the light panel wash is the biz! Makes me want to bring out my Eduard Hellcat Night-fighter for the Grumman GB, but not a hope to finish it! Davey.
