azureglo
One for the paint gurus: I've got to retouch the blue on this and was wondering if any of you have the right paint type or mix: Its the "modern" blue and I have the extracolor X30 ( + gunze equivalent) but these are lot darker with none of the purplish hue. I suspect these may be the wartime red/blue. Brand is irrelevant but if anyone has any insight, it would be much appreciated Cheers Anil
PhoenixII
Hi Anil, if the tin of xtracolour is marked as 110 = BS381 110, that's the current colour for Roundel Blue. Wartime colours were darker. May be an idea to cut away the blue sections and mask the white and use X30.

I would have sprayed this in retrospect like some of my other builds but yutzing around masking decalled areas can only end badly. One for the dont look too closely shelf. PhoenixII
Your very welcome. As to looking too closely, make sure I've not got me windows on, can't see much close up without them, I'll wax lyrical! Paul
PhantomBigStu
Airfix gnat? If you’ve got Humbrol 25 I’d try that, ive found airfix ink colours are often close to their paints and they use 25 as roundel blue Edited November 15, 2018 by PhantomBigStu
