WWF are not entirely happy with it, but it is what it is  :)

I have begun experimenting with the window replacements method

Plasticenealike inside the nose moulding and then pushed back to clear the recess

Let that settle although it will never harden very much which is why I like to reuse old plasticene, it's a bit less compliant

Quite an asset when I want it to stay put when the PPP is on

The PPP IS on, lets see how it hardens

I am not expecting to replace the entire nose, just the window glazing

Little moves, a bit at a time

:)

I'll have some of what you're having Giorgio, to me this only looks worth a try-out but we will see.

Been on water all day, I'll have a beer tonight to go along with dinner, so I said that as a sober person....

Hello Dear Colleague !

What ?? An aircraft with a propeller on its roof ???

And a civilan one ??

You'll end up building a FAA Haunebu.....

Well, I think that @Ex-FAAWAFU will induce you into riveting science...

Now I wonder why "African Queen" I was looking for a thing like a Ford Trimotor or something like that !

I look forward for your way to make that bulged windows with greeeeaaat interest.

Can I have a seat at the bar ? and having some tasty belgian beers ??

Great job Bill !

Sincerely.

I'll get Mrs Martian to dig it out of the loft. I'd go myself but following the falling through ceiling debacle, I am still banned!

OK I have done a polish and stiffen

P1010841.jpg

Port window polished and missing bits highlighted, it was always likely that there'd be missed out bits when using sloppy stuff like PPP

P1010842.jpg

Starboard one was better but still the odd little blemish

These blemishes have to be eradicated or it would have been a waste of time cutting out newer, better window shapes wouldnt it?

Say yes please kids

P1010843.jpg

Now polished back after a top up of the hole the hole is still visible but is actually filled in quite well

For Perfect Plastic Putty, which has less strength than snowflakes and hates being polished

We have a cunning plan for that later

Whilst that fettling is settling I began to work inside the Queen Of The Skies

Colin sent a floor plan outline with seat positions on it, which will become the floor of  the model, later

I needed to make a tail end wall to close it off in the tail

P1010845.jpg

This needs to sit a wee bit further back but was a good basis to work from

P1010846.jpg

And meanwhile I mentioned a cunning plan

Drying in the sun

P1010848.jpg a polishable skin of cyano

Polishing that in the morning

Sleep well guys'n...

Great choice Bill, anything with a red square has my attention. You're judicious use of every filler known to man (and not forgetting Martian)kind is the stuff of legends, have you ever considered building a model out of filler and sticking bits of plastic to it?:tomato:

And yet out of this apparent mayhem, like a Monarch butterfly emerging from its chrysalis exoskeleton, comes a little model masterpiece....funny old life.

  • 3 weeks later...

Sudden stall whilst idiot modeller takes a nose from that old Sea King, Milliputs it and begins from GO

I had it here

Or was it there?

Or under that?

Anyway I am off

And on with it again, luckily there is usually a spare Airfix Sea King around of a sacrificial nature

😠

Know the feeling. Do you know I made three wheels for the Sedbergh in the end, and as we all are very aware, she actually only needs one ........................😣

Ah yes, but do you now have the other two so that you can replicate the build twice?

Don't ask me how many recast Buccaneer wheels I could lay my hands on

I found another last night under the filing cabinet...
