PlaStix
This is one of my two builds for the Eleventh Hour: Commemorating the end of the Great War - Group Build. Information about the Renault FT-17 can be found here. This was fascinating little kit to build which went together very well. This was the first AFV kit that I have built which included some of the interior – hence the reason I left the driver’s hatches open. I made this to be part of a small vignette together with a Mark A Whippet and a few figures from Master Box. The RFI photos of the Whippet can be found here. Kit: 1/35 Meng Paints: Humbrol, Revell, Citadel and Railmatch Acrylic paints all applied by brush Extras: None. Most of the weathering was done with acrylic paints and the mud is from Vallejo. WIP thread: Here Vignette photos can be found: Here A couple of photos of the FT-17 and Whippet on the vignette base: Finally thank you to Robert Stuart for hosting the excellent GB and anyone who commented or offered advice in my build thread. FrancisGL
Very good combination of colors in the field, and the effect of mud and grass look very authentic, together with the base and the figures make it a very effective set. Cheers Stix 👍

Kingsman
I did a quick post this morning in the GB of the state of completion and outstanding WIP as at the anniversary date.
Buzby061
Great dio. The Renault is certainly a tiddler compared to the Whippet but a ground breaking design as it defined the modern tank. Pete

Badder
So good I had to like it twice... or more. Saw a documentary today where one of these Renaults was filmed being driven through a village, with the front all opened up and the driver grinning wildly at the camera. And it got me to thinking..... With that pitiful amount of armour at the front, I think I'd have preferred to be on foot. Badder

I always used Mig's stuff before - which is okay.....and I still use for some things - but Vallejo's mud includes bits that appear like small twigs or grasses which add nicely to the effects - there is one which I use called 'Mud and Graas effect' which has more texture.
