Windy37
Escort looks like it could do some fast laps around Silverstone sat on its tarmac set up ! Good work , Pat . Gary .
Steve Noble
Looks very nice and cleanly built, but if I may be so bold I think the wheels should possibly be blue in colour? Did you lower the suspension at all, as it does seem incredibly low, even for a tarmac spec car and the wheels look like they should be further out to fill the arches? Not a criticism of your model, but of the kit itself. It looks like there are a few errors. I have heard on a few forums that this kit is a pig to build into any one version and that it's a bit of a hotch potch of sorts, needing a fair bit of fettling. I may leave mine in the loft for a while yet 😀
PatW
Thanks guys. Well Steve is was very easy to build, very good fit of parts, little or no flash. The suspension was as it came out of the box. As for the wheels colour................... This is the car recently rebuilt for the annual Autosport Show at the NEC........... Steve Noble
Just watched a YouTube video and it appears both silver and blue wheels were used on different stages throughout the event, so neither is correct/incorrect.

PatW
Thanks guys. Yes the box art shows blue painted Minilites. I suppose depending on which colour wheels were the slicks or treaded tyres depends on what we see from pics of the day!
PatW
AH..................one thing a forgot to mention.................the kit is in left hand drive but the windsceen wipers are for a right hand drive as when fitting them you notice that instead of downwards the rubber wiper section is uppermost! Sorry to resurrect your thread Pat, but I missed it first time around and found it while looking for something else. I just wanted to mention the comment made by FAL above, in case anyone else building the kit comes across it and is put off by his comment. The Esci body most certainly does NOT accurately represent one of Ford's three Monte specials. The rear arches are I believe Esci's attempt at depicting 'normal' tarmac arches as opposed to the early forest arches, the top of which ended under the swage line of the body. Pictures of the Monte specials show the arches to be much wider than the kit's and with tops that slope much less and are much more horizontal. Nice build btw, and you can always say it's a modern historic car liveried to look like the BA car did back in the day! Keith

Redstaff
Nice job Pat I've got the one to do with the aftermarket Cossack decals at some point and I've got the R/H dash resin part somewhere safe 🤔 Ian
