Mr Bowcat
Hi Guys, Just finished this one up. It's my 4th attempt at an aircraft, still a lot to improve on but I'm pretty happy with the result. :)
Vultures1
That looks great!! You should definitely be happy with the result - well done
Baldy
That is very nice. Some excellent weathering effects. The only thing I would say is that it is perhaps a tad dark, possible due to the weathering which generally darkens the finish. You should indeed be pleased. A much maligned aeroplane - it was a great display jet if nothing else! I have one of these to build - is there anything I particularly need to look out for in construction? Lord Riot
Jeez that looks stunning! How did you bet the cockpit so lifelike, is it aftermarket or the kit decals? Looks amazing.

Mr Bowcat
Cheers gents. Baldy, the main problem is it doesn't fit very well, particularly around the intakes. There is a workaround on here somewhere, unfortunately I found it too late. It's actually a bit lighter in real life, pics taken under kitchen lights with my smartphone. Lord R, Eduard zoom set for the cockpit. Cheers Steve. Edited November 5, 2018 by Mr Bowcat
Baldy
Thanks for that. Yes I bet it looks better "in the flesh". Will get the Eduard zoom set too - looks great!

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Well done on your Tornado ... Not a huge fan of the Type. However I am a fan of 111 Squadron aircraft.
cathasatail
Woah- Crikey! The shading on those tanks is out of this world! What a cracking effort. Sam

Allowing for the photos darkening the pictures and model I'd say that was a rather nice Tornado in the best choice of squadron markings too. Had me all a tremble. gazza l
Stunning work... looks like you've cracked the art of making aircraft. How were the decals? I'm halfway through making this kit at the moment and was planning to also do a 111 bird. gazza l

Mr Bowcat
Cheers guys. Gazza, decals are still where I struggle the most. I really tried hard with this one but still got some silvering, particularly on the tail. Not sure if that's me or the decals??

General Jumbo
That's really rather lovely. I've just bought the 1/72 kit which I'm planning to do in 111 colours. At current build rate, I should get it started at some point in 2025... 😁
