Hi All,

So I masked it up as usual.

I airbrushed it, removed the masking tape and this happened......

Now as you can imagine I was somewhat vexed.  I was using a different primer, my main reason for using a primer is to stop the peeling off when the masking is removed and it turned out that the new primer is utterly useless in stopping the peeling - I'd have been better off just using paint.

So that's several more hours work trying to rescue it and then it will still look rubbish.

Back to the expensive (and messy), but superb Citadel rattle can primer.

Dave.

This is happening to too many of us to be a joke anymore. I hope you rescue it without throwing it at the wall. They did get a bit tatty after a few flights so it may all come out OK. A friend of mine was with Starfighters then Tornadoes for his service career, when he saw my Luftwaffe Lightening his first comment 'It's too clean the paint should be a little patchy, after only one flight to our base after overhaul they were worse than your job.'

Chin Up Chap I'm sure it'll be fine.

Hey Dave

What was the new primer and the camo paint out of interest?

Cheers

Hi Anil,

It was Ultimate Primer with Tamiya paint.  It could a problem limited to the Hasegawa plastic, which was quite shiny or maybe I should have cleaned it with IPA first.  But I'm not inclined to experiment with other kits to find out.
