But naturally, during my childhood, we all watched the movie "Valery Chkalov" about this pilot who flew over the North Pole. Now this movie: looks more interesting, because there are cadres of real planes of that period, such as the SB, I-16 and the experimental high-altitude BOC-7: (interesting planes in the background!): http://www.airwar.ru/enc/cw1/bok7.html BOC-7 as ANT-25 in the film "Valery Chkalov": in the role of ANT-25. I also have Baidukov’s book about this flight at home .... although Gromov’s memoirs, which are on the Internet in Russian, are more interesting: http://www.testpilot.ru/review/earth_sky/sky/ant25.htm Memoirs are written in a very simple language, which I think will not spoil even the translator Google. To believe or not to believe the memoirs of Baidukov, Gromov, the sports commissioners of the FAI, or the editor of the magazine Aeroplan is a personal matter. But in any case, the ANT-25 is quite a graceful, beautiful and aesthetic aircraft. And the one who collects models of all airplanes of the 30s and 40s intended for long-distance and high-altitude flights will have a very beautiful, interesting and unique collection! B.R. Ed Russell
Excellent modelling and a nice historical background, enlivened by some commentary. The most interesting models have some history behind them.

glatisant
Magnificent build. A prehistoric looking bird. I have the Tupolev release of this kit which is very well molded in comparison to the one you got.

Rik
I have recently made this model and yes it is a battle! The real aircraft is in a village called Chkalovsk at the home of Valery Chkolov and I had great pleasure in clambering around it. Although no one there spoke English they made me welcome and seemed surprised to see anyone especially a mad foreigner. I would post photos but Britmodeller make it too hard. If anyone wants to see the photos maybe Britmodeller can put them in touch with me.
