Great work Ratch.  Great detail on the figures.  Great research too..

Could I make a suggestion wrt your photographs.  The focus isn't sharp enough to do your figures justice.  If you take the picture from further away so that the camera can focus sharper -  then crop the image to size cutting out the unnecessary parts of the image before posting.  You should be able to get sharper pictures which will do your detailed work justice...

I don't seem able to crop without getting a grey border and no enlargement of the desired area. I am experimenting between using a higher f-stop to get more into focus and using the macro, but the macro severely limits the depth of field.

Can you take the picture from further away but zoom in on the subject?

Have to remember the scale you are working in and also the mould quality is limited by the scale  - we all remember the Airfix  Waterloo sets  with those  slippery figures that were hard to paint,   you are doing an amazing job.

6 Division – Lieutenant General Sir Lowry Cole. 10 Brigade – Major General Sir John Lambert KCB. 1 Battalion 4 King’s Own Regiment of Foot
The depleted battalion was reinforced from the second battalion and sent straight out to Flanders for the final battle against Napoleon. Lt-Col Francis Brooke commanded the 4th, the regiment being brigaded with the 27th and 40th under Maj-General Sir John Lambert. They did not see action at Quatre Bras and began the battle of Waterloo, on 18th June, as a reserve brigade. But by 6pm they were brought up to the front line, just to the north-east of La Haie Sainte. This farm had finally fallen to Marshal Ney and he placed artillery to cause havoc in Wellington's thin red line. Lambert's 10th Brigade took heavy casualties from the salvos of French artillery. Worst hit were the 27th Inniskillings with 105 killed, 373 wounded, then the 40th Somersets with 52 killed, 169 wounded. The 4th suffered 12 killed and 122 wounded. The regiment stayed in France until 1818 as part of the army of occupation.

5th Line Battalion King’s German Legion
51960639141_f65400cb75_c.jpg
Uniform and Equipment of the Legion's Line battalions was of standard British pattern of the time. In accord it was repeatedly revised during the years from 1803 until 1815. The principal distinction from British units was that the standard pack was painted dark blue rather than black. The 5th's light Company was partially armed with Baker rifles and was separated from the battalion at Waterloo in the midst of the battle to assist in the defence of La Haye Sainte.
