If I remember correctly , this P38 was recovered from the Tundra and restored to this spectacular condition.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I cannot remember if this was a base mascot or a rescued bird injured in the wild to be released later. I think the latter as there were two or three to be seen.

 

 

Over to nearby Fort Richardson and well received by the Army.

 

 

Don`t see these every day. This one had been retired by this time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

These C23`s were being withdrawn I think at the time. Note the different paint schemes.
