Regis Auckland - RIP

Hi Folks,

 

Some sad news just received from Guideline Publications. Evidently their Chairman, Regis Auckland has recently passed away after a long illness. I must admit the last time I saw Regis (over a year ago) he did not look well. I was not really sure what to make of the press release though - After delivering what I thought was a very nice tribute to Regis who, whilst not a modeller, took great interest in the hobby and the delivery of excellent publications to support us, the statement was somewhat spoiled (IMHO) with some rather crass marketing for new products at the end of the page !. Call me old fashioned but I personally think this mildly disrespectful and took much away from the initial tribute.

 

Anyway, Regis, may you Rest in Peace

Indeed, sad news.  Regis was always a familiar face at Southern Expo and the Nationals (Scale Modelworld).  Always a pleasure to deal with him.

I read this only today and the news made very sad. I had the chance to meet him at a show several years ago and I remember him as a very nice person.
