aquatarkus10
287/5000 Hi to all I started the MWP (Metal Work Panels) "Tojo" project based on the Hasegawa limited edition 1/48 scale model kit. The model will receive a complete coating with self-adhesive aluminum tape. The kit is essential but well done. To get some more details I made the following changes that I am going to illustrate. Part to be removed or detailed: BEFORE: AFTER: for more info & pics: http://www.adventurephotomodels.com Thanks for the attention George
aquatarkus10
Hi to all I show you the first update to the Tojo model I have finished the various structural changes: I built part of the engine to be able to deliver it to the model, detailed and modified the propeller ogive. I added the exhaust with tin solder wire and colored with camaleon paint GSW metal set1. aquatarkus10
II° Update: MWP technique : metal "stress" effect (not only for MWP technique!) Hi to all I continue in the Tojo project. In this update I will show the technique used to obtain the "stress" effect of the metal. now we sand very softely the parts to reveal the metal texture Remark!: if I want to paint the model I skip this step and I will get a beautiful "stress" effect like this: .....but in this case, I only need to remove the excess liquid putty (Mr.Surfacer 1200) and emphasize the distorting effect of the metal stress. MWP technique : final results The model will be permanently closed and completely covered in aluminum (self-adhesive tape) w/ "stress" effect. for more info & pics, please : http://www.adventurephotomodels.com Thanks for wour attention and watching this work. Jackman
That's a very unique way of doing the stressed skin effect. First time I've seen this technique. Well done!

Well done! Hi, thanks for the comment. I don't know if there is another method to achieve the "stress" effect in such a simple and effective way. Also the beauty of this technique is that you can apply it to every model of every scale. The idea came to me seeing this photo image posted exclusively for historical and technical reference: The size of the model is a little longer than the open fountain pen: Cheers
