Christer A
Thanks mate! I spent some time with the stencils today, but household chores must be done first says SWMBO, and then there was something interesting on the computer, and some fancy spraywork that I needed to test out and so on (thread to come!) But hopefully some more things will happen tomorrow!
Thom216
Really liking the look of her. Too bad you can't hang that sub under the wing...😜
Christer A
Ha! That would be a great idea for a torpedo-carrier though Currently all the little stencils are in place, and now I need to ler Micro Sol/Set do it's thing before adding another clear coat.
Christer A
I finally got all the stencils in place. Whew! Also, the wheels are also in place, so now everything starts to look the part. Today it will be stains, streaks and general muck about while I clean the bathroom sink tench trap and assorted gubbins. Quite fitting then to add stains, streaks and general muck to the Mossie as well (but not the same kind! 🤢)
Kitchen Modeller
I’m looking forward to seeing some muck on this beast. The bathroom is fine. Honestly don’t worry about it. The model is going to get dust on it if you don’t get on with weathering immediately.
Dansk
Amazing job Christer it’s gonna be a masterpiece! I think i used the world’s annual production of microsol to get my no-walk decals to sit down. (see post #103 #104)
Christer A
Thanks KM! Paul, your Mossie was superb and a great inspiration for me! Yeah, those Tamiya stickers were no fun, that's for sure. I've finished up all weathering now, maybe not to Ostfront Panzer levels, but this is more or less what I had in mind. img]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48493330876_afa068db46_o.jpg[/img] Some small stuff left to do now, like all antennas, masts, navigation lights, ladder, rigging, and a bunch of other things that surely will pop up! Last day of vacation as well, so it MUST be finished by nightfall! Especially since it's competition time tomorrow. No pressure then... But I did finish one model though 😎 The teeny tiny sub!

Christer A
Thanks CC! Who doesn't like Coastal Command and Banff? I'm starting to feel the need for a Torbeau... Here are a few quick snapshots from my mobile. There will be a proper RFI later Until then! //Christer
Vingtor
This is looking really great! Not often you see Swedes doing Norwegian subjects at this level.... 👍 There was a 333 Sqn, Mosquito seeking refuge in your area as well. Though not in this livery. Christer A
Thank you so much Nils and John. Yes, I've read about a Mosquito that made an emergency landing at Getterön (literally goat Island) here in Varberg and then burst into flames killing both occupants. https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=138540 Different Squadron though, but perhaps you were referring to another incident? Vingtor
I was thinking about RF724/KK-E that force landed at Torslanda on 5 April 1945. Though that is some distance from Varberg. Nils
Christer A
Ah, the Torslanda airport! Well, that's just a few km away from where I work (which for everyone in Sweden is easy to guess, but for the rest of the world I'll just call it Volvo trucks and leave it at that. There will be more Mossies in the future, but maybe not another FB, but rather and Intruder B. Mk IV instead. After all, I got some stickers and masking for it, just need a kit... Anyway, here is the link to the RFI On to the next one!
11bravo
Just stumbled upon this build. I'm currently working on the 32nd scale Tamiya Mossie (also a 333 bird) and was looking for inspiration on how to replicate that SDS-A paint scheme. Looks like you nailed it, the results you got are amazing. Quick question - to allow the underlying camo scheme to show, did you just apply the EDSG scheme lightly or did you more heavily thin the paint? Regards, John
Christer A
Thanks for the kind words! In post #55 I started with the main painting. The EDSG were applied in thin coats to gradually build up the effect.
