Max Headroom
I feel old..... I have an old RAF Yearbook (1982?) where Boeing took out a back page advert showing one of the new Chinooks lifting a small tank (Scimitar?). Paul J
A couple flew right over my house at probably the 500' limit by the sound of them last night around 9.pm ish. All I could see of them were weeny nav lights and a strobe but were in close formation.
Jabba
Of course they could always refurbish the older ZA series like they did when the Mk1s were updated to Mk2s. Chinooks do not have a finite fatigue life.

Jabba
Some of them are like that already. Think of ZA704 with the rear end from the Argentine one.

Trevor The decrepit ... me too - I'm pretty sure I've got the RAF Yearbook 1967 looking forward to the arrival of the Chinook! An order was placed in March 1967 for fifteen Chinook HC Mk1s, for the RAF to replace the Bristol Belvedere. This original Mk1 variant was based on the CH-47B but the order was cancelled in a review of defence spending in November 1967.
