I don't think that Zvezda will release Su-30MKI/MKM/MKA and Su-35/37, but as i saw one of sprue in Su-30SM made with possibility add to future Su-35S model, if they will release in future.

What are the major aesthetic differences between an SM and MKI ?

Visually, very little.

The MKI has some western avionics, so the cockpit is slightly different, but AFAIK, that is all.

The Malaysian MKM has more differences, with its MAWS and Laser Warning Antenna......

I built the MKI and MKM about a zillion years ago - converted from the the old Heller Su-27UB ... see here.

IMHO, this is a missed marketing opportunity by Zvezda - a simple adittional sprue of the differences would allow them to maximise their investment on the Su-30SM kit.

Plus both the MKI and MKM have been adorned with some stunning comemorative colour schemes over the years - another decal opportunity for Begemot.

Ho Hum....

I am currently doing all my own conversions reported as different topics in this forum.

You are right Neffan - I forgot about the T10M....

You could build 15 of them - and no two the same!

Master Ken,

I would be very appreciated if you could comment on my ongoing Flanker projects if I am in the right way...

Su-35UB (T-10UBM-1) is possible. You can see my conversion here. Please note the modified fins.

The picture you posted is Su-27M/Su-35 (T-10M-9) which I report my progress here.

J-15S (and Su-30MKM and SM) will be my next project when I clone Su-35UB nose upper and lower halves...

I just wanted to say it's awesome how far Zvezda engineering and kit manufacturing in general has come.

When compared to their Su-27 SM from 2014, this kit is miles ahead, even the packaging is superb now (not a single bag for all technique anymore).

Colored instructions sheet for marking options, excellent decals themselves, they don't even require decal solutions based on previous experience.

Plastic parts without any huge sink marks, mismolds, etc.

The only reason I'm not building yet is me waiting for Eduard/MetallicDetail/someone to come up with aftermarket goodies for even more detail.

Aren't there AL-31F thrust vectoring exhausts in the Zvezda? I just got one yesterday (and lovely it is!), and there are two full sets of exhaust nozzles on the new sprues, one marked for in flight and one for display on the ground.

Cheers,

Andre

Maybe you can have a look my T-10M conversion based on Revell/Zvezda Su-27SM.

that was my plan, yet you need to enlarge and lengthen the forward fuselage section and make a new dome out of it
