Welkin
I am in the process of building four Tamiya 1:48 Beaufighters - Mk.IF; Mk.IIF (using CMK conversion); Mk.VIc; TF.X. The Mk.IF I want to build as John Cunningham's R-for-Robert, which from the attached photograph (courtesy of the internet) has a 'towel-rail' aerial under the fuselage - not supplied in the Tamiya kit. I am reasonable confident in the placing of this fore and aft, but I am not sure where it should be located laterally and am unable to find any drawings showing this. I assume that it is probably along the centreline, but cannot ignore the possibility that it might have been offset to one side? Can anyone help with this? Muddyf
From what I have seen, they were offset to the Starboard side (right). There is a photo that shows this in the IWM archives. https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205208769 Hope this helps Edited October 14, 2018 by Muddyf Grammar
Welkin
Thanks Muddyf - I think that photograph gives me enough to get the correct location. Martin
