Hi all,

Apologies for the delay, but here are some pictures of my second build for the GB in the shape of the Airfix 1/72 Grumman J2F-6 Duck built as the current flying example of the Planes of Fame museum:

Once again many thanks to the host and co-hosts for organising the group build and congratulations to all for some excellent models.

Cheers,

Mark.

Here’s my entry, the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 Grumman F3F-2 in the colours of VF-6.

This is my first biplane build since childhood but couldn’t have been easier due to the fantastic engineering by AM (Academy are releasing this kit in 2019 I highly recommend it).

Painted using AK Interactive Xtreme Metal for the silver and Colourcoats enamels for all the other main colours. It’s completely OOB with the exception of the EZLine aerial.

Airfix 1/72 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat (Starter set), mainly painted with Hataka’s late US Navy paint set, weathered with gouache and Tamiya Smoke. Everything else straight out of the box.

Grumman Goose, 749 Squadron NAS, Piarco, Trinidad. AZmodel 1:72 kit brush painted with Xtracrylix paints and matted down with matt varnish. A nice build but challenging at times. There is a nice interior with resin detail but it really can't be seen. Replaced cabin windows with Krystal Kleer.

My I present my 1/144 scale build. Revells F14D Tomcat with my favourite tail scheme.

Built OOB, added 144 crew from a Phantom I had in the stash. Brush painted and weathered.

Here's my finished build for the GB, Grumman's X-29 experimental aircraft built to test forward-swept-wing (FSW) technology. The X-29 was the first FSW aircraft to go supersonic and two aircraft were built, flying from 1984 to 1991.

Build was 100% OOB and you can read more here but to recap:

Kit: Hasegawa 1/72 X-29 kit number 00243

Build: Out of Box

Paints: Halfords white primer from a can, Revell acrylics by brush for anything else! Klear and pencil for panel lines.

Decals: from kit

Extras: Seat belts from tape
