And good you had the guts to do the fading, even after decaling... I don't know if I would have dared it. But obviously it was well worth it. Top job. mstorin
Beautiful weathering job. Would it be too much to ask how you did the fading? Not a detailed description, but whether you simply airbrushed lighter shades or was it some other method. Its is so convincing.

I originally went in with lightened eggplant but saw that it wasn't enough nor the right color. I ended up airbrushing compass ghost grays, light and dark on the really faded areas. Because the less faded front fuselage still has a strong purple hue I added some black and umber to the dark stains on the fins which were brushed on.

IPMS19
- I 've used AKAN Eggplant for my last built Su 34, I've found it had a too light shade close to a rather faded color so I'used darker grey shade to get the weathered effect I wanted. I contemplated use it for my coming soon Su 35, seeing yours I wonder if I will have to mix to the original paint with some dark grey or even black if I elect to depict a newer or well maintained machine. Nice! Love the stained panels on the spine. I've got another brand of eggplant and it's way too purple, I found the AKAN plenty dark and a good hue and although the bottle fly green is next for a Su-34 I would consider a heavily weathered Su-34 in eggplant like how you've done it, possibly with the Syrian campaign blocked out insignia.
