EE Lightning F.2A (Airfix 1:72)

Recommended Posts

If at first you don't succeed..................

So, following the conversion of my F3 into a rocket by my 4 year old nephew, here's a new entry. Time is short but I'm hope to complete  :frantic:

I'm off to wash the sprues before pictures and first cuts

Hi Nigel. Now just make sure this is kept behind a firmly locked door! Good luck!

Kind regards,

Stix

You're not wrong, Stix!! No parties planned so all should be good 🤞

Best of luck, one of the best looking lightning schemes IMHO

Hope this one fares better than the last one :)

I know the feeling well as I came in one day years ago to find the dog had decided to use mine as a chew toy 🙄

He was fine thanks

One of his favourite things to destroy was the plastic plant pots plants come in from the garden centre

As soon as you took the plant out to re-pot, he was hovering around waiting for you to put it down so he could destroy it if you weren't keeping an eye on him 🤣

Glad to see this one is underway and still in one piece! Looking very smart! 👍

Kind regards,

Stix

Haha - Thanks Stix   As I said to Glynn, my nephew will be coming nowhere near this one!!

I recently purchased some tape with plastic sheeting which has proved perfect for this build (and many more to come hopefully). Just fir info, I turned the flash on for the second picture else the top and fin looked black from front to back

I reckon she's ready for a couple of coats of gloss

Looking really nice there, like the idea of the tape/plastic combo :)

Really nice choice of scheme as well, only second to the firebirds one IMHO

Don't know whether it's the lighting for the pics, but the intake ring looks very dark like a gun metal sort of colour 🤔

Thanks Redstaff

The intake ring started out as 'Chrome' (Alclad) but my big sweaty fingers have had a diverse effect during handling   Fear not, it will be re-coated before completion
