Spookytooth
OK folks, I got this for myself as a little present for cutting down smoking. Also to take my mind off the bleedin Jug... The bits. And the clear ones . Decals. A quick look at the parts shows little if any flash or awkward ejector pin marks so far. It has 56 parts, including separate wing fold wings, which I will not be using. Not sure which 1 of the 2 markings I will be doing at the moment. So to the build. The destructions say remove these to bumps marked in black. So I did. Faithful No`9 blade ans sanding stick took care of those. While on the fuselage, there are 2 windows located in the lower half. Masked up. And fitted. The wings are simple, 2 halves to stick together , I will add the flaps later. The Martlet differs from the Wildcat in that it has a different engine, so Airfix supply an extra runner with said parts. The adapter ring comes in 2 halves but no locating pins. Fixed together carefully. And here are the bits for the main U/C. Some seams to remove carefully but should be fun. All comments welcome. Simon.

Tight tolerances means checking for seam lines etc. And that is what I have been up to this afternoon. Will post pics later in the week, busy day ahead tomorrow. Simon. Be very careful with the undercarriage, it is quite complex and takes a fair amount of time to get everything aligned properly. I've made two and one of them took hours to get right. Well actually almost right. It may have been due to the fact I prepainted the parts but it is awkward working inside the aperture for the undercarriage. All the best with it, you're making great progress already.

A chance to repay your kindness in victualling my threads That is no problem Ced dear chap, happy that you have joined me for this little build.@825 I know what you mean, old eyes and not so nimble fingers don`t help. LOL. Right, a quick up date indeed. Engine done ready for priming etc. Not much to it, but how much will be sen anyhow. The office, Again, how much will be seen. But with some decals to be added after painting should liven up the walls/consoles. The seat/ control column to be added later, along with the I/P. As for the U/C, this is a pain as @825 kindly pointed out. First part glued in place but I may have to remove it a level things out a bit. All comments welcome. Spookytooth
Update. Next 2 bits added to the U/C. The use of TET was very handy I think. Let that set before venturing any further with this, All comments welcome. Simon.

A bit of dry brushing should hopefully bring out the moulded details. Update. U/C done, apart from the doors, which I will fit after painting. Not too bad, macro pics always seems to make things look worse than they are. With not a lot to do until I prime bits, I shall adjourn for coffee and a bite to eat. May get a chance to prime and paint tomorrow? All comments welcome. Simon.
