Just please Mr. airfix, no more Spitfires.

Absolutely with you on that one!! And, please Airfix, none of that unaffordable, oversized 1/24 fantasy nonsense either!!

Airfix stay away from 1.32 and rightly so, others have this. I am hoping for a 1/24 kit myself. Top of the list would be a Gladiator.  If they want to do another big twin then a Meteor F.8, but I cant in reality see that.

Julien

But a 1/24 Gladiator would only be about 8cm. Even Maxiumus Decimus Meridius wouldn’t top out much beyond that?!

Except re-scaling the Mk.XIV to 1/72 :)

Same with the Sea Fury, Walrus and others I might have forgotten about

In general, while Airfix seem willing to scale kits up to 1/48 from 1/72, the reverse hasn't really been as true.

As much as I would love to say a 1/72 Lincoln especially the longer nosed RAAF version, Scimtar in 1/72 and other subjects I think we will see the usual run of Spitfire variants, B-25 variants, F-4 Phanton II variants, BF-109's, P-51's etc etc etc One popular thing they might tempt me with is a Vought Corsair WW2 vintage, but I won't hold my breath about that either.

Another year of saving heaps ahead as I have a huge stash and not interested in "upgrading" to new tools.

The price of a 1/24 Camel would be in a similar bracket of a WNW if not higher, so the target would be similar I think

Airfix would be looking for much higher sales volumes than Wingnut Wings. I'm sure the price would be comparable to the 1/24 Typhoon, if not cheaper, as the Camel is a much simpler aircraft.

One thing comes to mind, that no-one seems to have mentioned yet is a Ju88 in 1/72. A new tool kit is the only thing missing from their BoB line up....??

One thing's for certain: Airfix will be over the moon at how much interest this thread's generated! Hi guys! We know you're reading! 🤗

A newly tooled Ju 88A-1/5 would make a nice addition for one of those dogfight boxings, together with a Bf 109E, Spitfire and other aircraft.

Also, there aren't any BoB Ju 88s available in 1:72.

My sensible head would like:

1:72 C-130 (stretched H/J)

1:48 Lancaster

1:48 Sea King (with interior)

1:48 Puma

1:48 Wasp/Scout

1:48 Jaguar (new tool)

1:48 Buccaneer (new tool)

I would really like a 1:24 Lightning or Hawk

I really want Airfix to make a Gloster Meteor Mk.4 in 1:48.

Now on to 18 pages. This feels like digital version of a 'reverse-raffle' whereby everyone throws an idea into the hat in the hope that Airfix picks one 😜

Maybe that could even be the future of the hobby? Subject chosen by Tombola?

I have the same problem with the Chicken kits in Morrisons. They always seem to be missing the head, feathers and feet. I think there must be a quality control issue somewhere.

Short shot?

That's a distinct possibility which makes perfect sense. I'll pen a letter of complaint immediately!

I had the same problem with the fish kits. They only stock the parts to build a fish torso with 24 fingers.
