I suppose that we will see the new canopy, fuselage, wings, fin and tail, everything else will be from the MiG-21F? B.R. But as we see on photo E-2A: static part canopy have differences v.s. box-art! Maybe this models may have two type canopy? B.w., interesting fact- E-2A in mass production consent of the Council of Ministers of the USSR must have name MiG-23.....yeppp, all know as MiG-23 only four* type aircraft with this name! The serial plant in Gorky built seven E-2A aircraft, but their fate is still unknown. Resource photo: http://www.airwar.ru/enc/xplane/e2.html B.R. Aardvark
This is a surprise for me, but it turns out that two E-2A in the prepared form are still alive. One E-2A from Kazan in good condition. More photo: https://orbicraft.livejournal.com/12841.html This photo him cockpit: more photo: https://orbicraft.livejournal.com/36028.html Other E-2A from Moscow in a Moscow aviation technical school, as say in poor condition, but I have not yet found his photo on the Internet. John R
Instructions show two types of canopy. One like your first photo and the other as in the post above. Interestingly the a/c above has '21' on the nose the kit version with that canopy is marked '9'

My E-2A maybe will have after this sunday. He has been waiting for the caravan😁 since October 2018...🤗 Therefore, I froze the assembly of my MiG-21F. Will arrive, I will consider in detail. It will not come, then it will come sometime together with MiG-21F-13 .... or together with MiG-21F-13 and E-5 if I decide to buy E-5 ... 23 hours ago, John R said: Interestingly the a/c above has '21' My suppose, that this number "21" was already painted in Kazan, and the plane with this number was not in flight. 23 hours ago, John R said: kit version with that canopy is marked '9' Have poor quality photo this aircraft from some book on the MiG-21. Stripes on this aircraft, show that this is a testbad aircraft. Such strips are usually applied for filming, therefore it is possible that the filming of this aircraft has been preserved in the archives. It would be interesting to see the photo of Kazan E-2A immediately after it entered the training hangar .... maybe there was some number on it, but the technical stencil are still original there. And maybe in future someone will make a photo of the E-2A from Moscow aviation technical school. B.R. Serge

Unfortunately, there are no stencil in it at all, although there are many of them on the photo of the original aircraft. The stencil from the MiG-21 will partially save the situation, but the stencil on the wing “not to become” is original and is characteristic only of Ye-2. B.R.
