Dereknf
Another long-term stash resident, this the Airfix 1/24 scale Fw-190. Finished as an F-2 variant. Some parts of this kit aren't too bad, the interior, the engine, however the fit of the fuselage and wings is truly awful. It took several attempts to get it to fit and frankly it still doesn't. The cowl parts don't really fit with the engine and exhausts in place. The landing gear looks OK but is a bit wobbly. The kit is sprayed in Vallejo RLM 74/75/76 scheme. I don't think there is enough contrast between the top surface colours - Xtracrylix are better in this respect. Anyway, here it is is. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. stevej60
Still done a great job on it Derek,I've never seen this or the 1/24 Stuka in the flesh built or boxed.
Corsairfoxfouruncle
I agree with Stevej60 ... You’ve done wonders with the kit.
FalkeEins
kudos to you my friend ! (speaking as one who has three of these part-started - what was I thinking!)
Vinnie
Derek, despite your trials and tribulations you've presented a very nice example.👍
opus999
It's a beautifully finished model, despite the fit issues. Although, I find it hard to see them. This is a wonderfully realistic model, good job!
Sturmovik
Looks impressive, I always wanted to get my hands on that beast (and I even thought on buying the 1:18 Hobby Boss model), but I realised it wasn't my scale. The engine is also nicely done, well painted. And the bigger the scale, the weaker the landing gear, unless it's made out of bronze.
Natter
I'm impressed with anyone brave enough to finish one of Airfix's 1/24 monsters. Respect.
Dereknf
Thanks for the kind comments folks. It is appreciated. I have the 1/24 Spitfire and Hurricane in the loft. I don't think I have the nerve to tackle them just yet.
Drift
It came out very well. The Hurricane is a nice build, the Spitfire is a bit of a dog with many fit issues.
