ICM 1/48 MiG-25RB (Foxbat-B)

Recommended Posts

Nice pile of goodies to add to an already nice kit. I have the Revell re-pop of this along with an AMK MiG-31 Foxhound which I plan to do as a synchronous 'take-off' pair at some point in the future.

I'll enjoy following along and getting some useful tips as you go through this build.

Paint colour is well matched with the pe, which seat have you chosen?

I'm try mix color:
60% C34 + 20% C66 + 20% C80
But to better harmony with PE add little blue.
I'm chose a original seat from ICM kit. It better set to cockpit and no bad.

Nice start.......Slightly different variant to that being modelled, but the attached may help others along the way with the cockpit and ejection seat.

Those exhaust nozzles are looking good to me !

Nice comparison with these photos (taken this last weekend at the Riga Aviation Museum) of the MiG-25RBS Foxbat they have on display.

Yes, Belenko ran off MiG-25P (МиГ-25П)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Belenko

"After Belenko's defection to Japan exposed this flaw to the West, a government decree issued on 4 November 1976 called for urgent development of a more advanced radar. This resulted in the pulse-Doppler radar Sapphire-25 system fitted to the MiG-25PD variant."

Прекрасный результат! Looks great, the weathering is also fantastic. 👍

It would be interesting to know what the colors you used for an exhaust section:

Looks like a Gun Metal, Titanium Silver and Chrome Silver, right?

Cheers! 🙂

what is actually the difference in this case between a RB and a RBT?

External - some hatches and panels.
Internal: some difference in electronic equipment and electronic countermeasure.
USSR must be develop and build more change electronic equipment after ran off Belenko on Mig-25 to Japan in 1976.

But difference at the level of individual machines rather than on the level of the series!

thanks,

yeah, more or less I know, those drawings show very early and ~ final configurations....

but that is more timeframe related .... longer intake lips, different brake-shute fairing....

but what makes an Algerian Recce MiG-25 and RB or an RBT?

Thanks!
