Silver Seraph
That's beautiful, the latest of the "PIPed" DC-10-30ER, latest engines, latest fairings, so glad they're releasing it. I can now model my Varig sourced SIA late DC-10-30ER.
Eric B.
Wow, They really are fulfilling my last 10 year expectations : L1011-500, B747SP, MD-11, DC-9 series and now DC-10!! What Revell or Minicraft should have done earlier. Now just hoping someone releases a B757 and I'm OK. Eric B. pinky coffeeboat
The poor old 757 must be wondering what's its done to deserve being ignored! Rumours are one may be available soon but in the meantime I'm looking forward to this kit - Laker and BCal thanks! misterblank
I've been on tenterhooks for the DC-10 for a while now. World Airways, Laker, and B-Cal for me. Hopefully 26 decals will have a kit deal on this one too. Also keeping the flame alive for a Zvezda 757. You never know.
pinky coffeeboat
Apparently, off topic a bit, but I've read somewhere that a couple of Zvezda (?) employees are privately developing a 757 model in CAD. They have done this themselves and there's absolutely no guarantee that Zvezda or anyone will buy their hard work. No doubt an expert will be along to correct me but this is what I understand from badly translated forums and hearsay from other places. What has the elegant 757 done to be so badly ignored? And yes, hopefully Ray will have some great deals. Jeff
Albeback52
10 hours ago, pinky coffeeboat said: What has the elegant 757 done to be so badly ignored? Jeff Not confined to the 757 Jeff! Think BAC-111,Viscount, Trident, HS-748, Argonaut, Elizabethan, Argosy, Vanguard,Comet 1 through 4, Brittania, H P Herald, Fokker F27/50, Bae -146, and a whole host of others. Now, I know that some of these have now recently been covered but, I do wonder at some of the omissions especially, as you say, the 757. Allan ps Is there actually any recent kit of the 747-100/200/300?

pinky coffeeboat
I've got a Laker DC-10 winging its way to me. And it looks as though EE have done their research with this one as G-BGXG (the registration for this one) was one of the later DC-10s with the enlarged wing body fairings and the leading edge root extensions as moulded in the kit. I'm looking forward to getting mine. Jeff

pinky coffeeboat
Released and I've got mine, Came from Pas-decals ebay store with fast delivery too. As noted by me above, mine is the Laker issue. Overall, again it's a very decent model from EE. Very neat engraved panel lines, sharp trailing edges to the flying surfaces (part of the underside wings are moulded on to the upper trailing edges). I think only the undercarriage frame is common to the previously released MD-11. The same minor issue regarding the window strip remains from the MD-11. On both aircraft, the window strip was a reinforced with a thicker panel and can be seen in close up pictures of this area. Not really a big problem to correct though - ignore or add a very thin strip of plastic card to the affected area or do as I have done on my partially built MD-11 and that is mask the area off and apply a couple of good thick primer coats. Then when the top coat is on, the thicker primer will show as a slightly raised strip. Simple!
