warhawk
I came across this nice photo of a Bf109G-6 (JG3). I would like to depict it on my model, but unfortunately no number is visible on the tail. img source: Third Reich Color Pictures blog Could anyone point me to some other photos, profiles or history of this particular bird? Sturmovik
This link says the aircraft was nased at Monchengladbach, maybe you can refine your search with that: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/291959988337987951/
warhawk
Thank You for the suggestion. Unfortunately, google search with name of this place added produces images of a plethora of other Bf109s stationed there, but unfortunately not this one. tempestfan
It looks to have the E/F/G-1/-2 style "spoked wheels" - was that a common fit on G-5/6 ?

I would have to say that's probably a very early G-6.
vppelt68
My middleaged eyes suggest me that the canopy has a vertical head armour/pressurization bulkhead - that'd make it a G-5 then? V-P

Would the old wheel fit the axle of the „new“ u/c, assuming there was a new one for the thicker wheel? And - would such an aircraft have the wheel bulges (I assume yes)? A very attractive aircraft- and one that could be built from the old Revell 1/32 that gave Beulen but only the asphalt cutter wheels...
vppelt68
I have never seen anywhere mentioned that a G-2 would've had a different gear leg than a G-6. Thus I suppose the axle and wheel hub were similar. V-P EDIT: Now I have and I admit being wrong about it. You live and learn, thanks Kari!
