Josh G
Hi folks, I recently finished this 1/48 scale Fulmar; the Special Hobby Over the Mediterranean and Indian Oceans edition; the model's very flawed; pretty sure the colours are wrong, sea grey is too dark and slate grey too green, I got excited when I found the Humbrol paints locally, and assumed the colours would come out how they looked on the tin lids; there's too much contrast between the two, oh well, photo etch and resin parts are great but trying to fit the observer's compartment in was a nightmare. The decals went on well (mostly). The only thing not from the box is the backing for the light in the wing, which I cut from a Zvezda sprue. It's not up to the standard of the models on this site, but I'm happy with it, it looks good on the shelf. Thanks for your time from Josh. 😎 https://i.imgur.com/yobA5E4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/BxSHdJK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/0vQY4U9.jpg
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Hello Josh I think your Fulmar looks great. Im not an expert on either the aircraft or colors but it looks the part. Im not sure how much you mixed/stirred/shook your paints but sometimes that can effect the color. Next time try and stir it for a few minutes ? That might get the desired tone from the paint tin. Grey Beema
Looks good to me. It's a Fulmar, how could it possibly look anything but good - yes I know it had its foibles but what aeroplane didn't.... I built that model a year or so ago, it is a great kit and rewards the time taken.. Well done.. Take it out into the natural light and take a couple more pictures - the lighting would help the colour cast of the pictures..
bigbadbadge
Looks great. I use Humbrol enamels and generally I find the colours good . Your model looks fine and you have done a great job getting it together. They are limited run kits and do sometimes require extra work. Thanks for sharing. All the best Chris

Buzby061
Looks good, those Special Hobby kits can take a bit of wrestling into submission - I speak from experience. As Grey Beema says, take some photographs outside. I'm sure you get sunshine in Oz! Pete
